THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPRESSION AND SUPPORT ZONES IN POSTSURGICAL BRAS

It’s a fact that targeted compression on wound/scar tissue and postsurgical swollen tissue will advance the postsurgical healing process, reduce the infection risk and help achieve nicer scarring.

Postsurgical bras from Tytex are designed to provide the necessary compression and support exactly where needed. This is achieved by so-called targeted compression zones knitted into the products.

WHY DO WE USE COMPRESSION ZONES IN OUR POST-OP BRAS?

Targeted compression on wound or scar tissue and postsurgical swollen tissue will advance the postsurgical healing process, reduce the infection risk and help achieve nicer scarring.

The Carefix postsurgical bras are designed to provide the necessary compression and support exactly where needed. This is achieved by so-called targeted compression and support zones knitted into the products.

These zones are specially designed into each product based on medical indication. By providing targeted compression and support, our bras not only fixate and support the breasts after surgery, but also create optimal
conditions for improved wound healing and pain relief, leading to increased comfort and faster recovery.

Furthermore, the compression and support zones on the sides and the back of the bra serve as support as well as posture correction, reducing postsurgical neck, shoulder and back pain without compromising mobility.

Based on our experience and medical know-how in the field, we know when compression and support respectively are required. We use this know-how every time we develop a new bra – be it a bra in our own Carefix brand or a private label bra.

CAREFIX BRAS CONTAINS DIFFERENT KNITTING STRUCTURES

Each bra has its own completely unique knitting structures. To clearly illustrate the different knitting structures in the bras graphically, we use colors. The colors together with the numbers 1-6 indicate the flexibility, i.e. the compression and support ability of the knitted structure:

  • The lower the number, the lesser flexibility in the knitting structure, resulting in firm and stable compression zones in the bras when needed = firm knitting structure for compression.

  • The higher the number, the more flexibility in the knitting structure, enabling the fabric to offer the right support and freedom of movement when needed = loose knitting structure for support and flexibility
Between firm knitting structures and loose knitting structures, we have so-called transitional knitting structures.

They are an essential part of each bra for increased comfort and for the creation of a smooth body profile.

The illustrations and the knitting structure technology we use are called Tytex Zonetech®.

The different knitting structures are also referred to as compression and support zones:

Note: A zone colour in one bra not necessarily matches the same zone colour in another bra, as the knitting structure of the same zone colour may vary from bra to bra.

TESTED PERFORMANCE

The knitting structure in the different compression and support zones is always determined according to surgeons' and nurses’ preferences and recommendations, as are the zone location and the size of each zone.

All compression and support zones in the Carefix bras have been tested on patients undergoing the treatment each bra is intended for. This means that every single bra is tested in terms of indication, medical performance and comfortable wearing. Altogether, this means that the knitting structure, the location and size of each compression and support zone are carefully selected according to surgeons’, nurses’ and end users’ recommendations and preferences.

  • The combination of the various zones in each bra is based on user tests (trial and error). Many combinations have been tested, so the current presentation of the bra is a result of fine tuned and best-in-class products in terms of fit and comfort
  • The combination of the zones in each bra is a result of a unique and strong cooperation with healthcare professional - typically surgeons and nurses. Many combinations have been tested, so the current presentation of the bras is a result of fine tuned and best-in-class products in terms of clinical and medical performance

The superior mixture of compression and support zones in combination with intended use and recommendations from medical experts and users, makes every single bra unique.
